“Off Route”

February 21, 2010

October 2007 I was attending a four day photography workshop in Provincetown, MA. We have family in Plymouth, MA so I offered to take my Mom along so that she could visit with them. When the workshop was over I spent a day in Plymouth before we headed home. In the past, when we traveled to Plymouth, the trip home would be straight driving until we reached home, only stopping for gas and bathroom breaks. This time would be different. I decided that we would take two days to travel through Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine before heading to Nova Scotia.

Now you may be thinking that this is how the name of the book came to be. If so you are only partially right. During this trip we used GPS software on my notebook to help guide us to our destinations, but my continued use of back roads caused it to constantly scream, “Off Route”, hence the name.

The images in this book tell alot about who I am as a photographer and I will share with you how they captured me and the how and why they were taken.
