Halifax Aerial Photography

August 14, 2010

Christmas 2008 my step children purchased a flight for me to go take aerial photographs. I finally took that flight on Friday, August 13, 2010. I have a fear of heights and although I have flown many times I was really unsure about how I would feel in such a small airplane. This issue was compounded when I was informed that my pilot was eighteen years old. To put your trust into someone so young is hard to do. Now everytime that we tried to book the flight, either the weather, service issues or our schedules conflicted. Finally after 1.5 years we managed to get a day that worked and the weather cooperated with us. Kyle, my pilot, now was one day shy of his 20th birthday and I was still a little nervous. After he did the walk around of the plane he briefed me on what to expect, safety issues, etc. During the flight he was always explaining to me what he was doing, where our flight would take us and what to expect along the way. For such a young man Kyle was very responsible and professional. I must say that not once during the flight did my fear of heights bother me. I am looking forward to flying with him again as it was a lot of fun to be capturing aerial images. I suggest that you check out a charity that Kyle started: Shoes for Souls.
